Internships
The Florida Department of Corrections Internship Program is a unique opportunity available to currently enrolled college and university students. These internships are offered on a volunteer basis and provide applicants the chance to get hands on experience and learn about a variety of careers in the Department.
Our interns are placed under the supervision of a correctional professional who works with them to develop a meaningful internship opportunity focused on utilizing the intern’s academic knowledge and skills in a professional work setting.
It is the goal of the Department to offer education, training, and exposure to a variety of careers in the correctional field.

- “Supplemental Application,” DC2-899;
- copy of a state issued identification card or valid drivers’ license;
- cover letter that outlines your goals for internship;
- resume;
- two letters of recommendation (one academic letter of recommendation (i.e., professor, advisor, dean, etc.) and one personal letter of recommendation (from a non-relative); and
- the proposed scheduled for the duration of the internship.
